Gluten Free Alcohol

Let me just start by saying that there is much debate about if certain types of alcohol are gluten free or not. I don’t have time for that shiz so I stick to what I drink and you do you boo (or course only if you are of legal drinking age). Here is what I am drinking right now: 1. Dry White Wine – usually Trader Joe’s 2 buck chuck Sauvignon Blanc because I’m ballin’ on a Social Worker’s budget.     2. Hard Seltzer – Here are my favorites in order – Truly: Grapefruit & Pomelo (if you get the multi-flavor pack you may have to mix the lemon & yuzu one with tea/sprite/flavored vodka like I do because I think they are nasty on their own; the rest of the flavors are good)   – White Claw: Ruby Grapefruit / lime flavors are my favorite. Black Cherry and Raspberry aren’t my favorite. I think they are too sweet for a seltzer and I drink seltzer to get away from the sweetness of Cider …

One Redd’s and You’ll Be Dead*

*Maybe not dead but damn near close. Sometimes a celiac just wants to get drunk. Cider, as I have mentioned before, is my go-to alcoholic drink. But I am starting to realize that the world may not completely understand what cider actually is or what other beverages do not classify as cider. If you avoid gluten for any reason you will see one word stand out and that word is MALT and malt is ~ b a d ~. I know that the audience of their article was not celiac’s or people who avoid gluten because of medical reasons, however, putting it out there that an ale is a cider can be …

Angry Orchard Strawman Farmhouse Hard Cider

I love my hard cider. I know that they are sugary and contain a ton of calories but I don’t care because they make me happy. Last Thanksgiving I had 1750 calories from Hard Cider alone and I don’t regret it one bit. Recently, I have been branching out and trying new ciders whenever I see them. I have my favorites and ones that I don’t like too much either but it is always fun for me to try something new. This week it was Angry Orchard’s Strawman Farmhouse Hard Cider. It comes from their Cider House collection that also includes Iceman and The Muse, which I cannot wait to find and try. I am no alcohol aficionado and I am not going to try to impress you with words I googled to sound like I know what I am talking about when it comes to describing alcohol so I will enlighten you with a little blurb from the Angry Orchard website about this cider: Strawman combines a distinct blend of juices from traditional culinary and …
