A² | Washington Ave, St. Louis, MO

***Update: unfortunately A squared closed their doors on Monday October 10th check out their webpage for more information*****  I have been trying to make my way to A²  (pronounced A- squared) for a few months now and I finally made it!!! This is one of the only completely gluten free restaurants in St. Louis city. They recently made Feast Magazine’s “15 Best Spots for Gluten-Free Dining in St. Louis.” I am excited to make my way through that list. Sam and I decided to order a few things off the menu and share. This is our go-to when trying out new GF restaurants. Pictured above is the Washington Avenue Sandwich (Smoked Chicken, Cabbage salad, BBQ Mayo, and Mustard Aioli). I am not a mayo fan at all. I avoid it at all costs normally but I was intrigued by the BBQ flavor. I ended up LOVING this sandwich. The baguette was amazing. That being said, the chips were nothing special, lacked salt/flavor, and ours were a bit soggy with grease. Our second order was the …

Ace Pumpkin Hard Cider

Happy fall, y’all!! Even though it is 90+ degree in the city of St. Louis, we have officially transitioned to fall. And you know what that means??? PUMPKIN ERRRTHANG. Break out the PSL, flannel, and hayrides!!! My favorite fall themed beverage is Ace Pumpkin Hard Cider. I cannot wait to find it on tap and in stores soon!! I have absolute no issue with the sweetness of most ciders because I have an intense sweet tooth. However, this cider is definitely more on the spicy side and less sweet than their other varieties for those of you out there who are  not a fan of the sweetness! Check it out and let me know what you think!!!

Austin, TX

Hey y’all, I went to Texas and actually had (mostly) amazing gluten free food so I wanted to share my findings! VIA 313 Pizza | 1111 E 6th St, Austin, TX This place was great. We went to the 6th St. location which is more of a food truck and the delivered our pizza into the bar next door. This was definitely top 5 GF pizza’s I’ve ever had. There are multiple locations all over the Austin area too. Hopdoddy Burger Bar | 1400 S Congress Ave, Ste A190, Austin, TX Not pictured: truffle fries fried in dedicated frier! WOO! But, don’t eat these burgers. Felt very not okay after eating here but I definitely took a risk eating here. The reviews were very 50/50 if the place was celiac safe or not. Check on the fries if you go but they were in a dedicated fryer when I was there and they were amazing. Frank’s | 4th & Colorado, Austin 78701 Awesome late night snack stop. The waiter was super knowledgeable about the gluten free options. …

MYBREAD flatbread pita pizza

These are the real deal. I honestly don’t think I need to look for a different gluten free pizza crust ever again. The MYBREAD Flat Bread Pita made the most amazing and easy crust a celiac could ask for. The best part? It took 10 minutes at 450 degrees. Fast AND easy, that’s my favorite type of meal. I am not going to lie, this pizza was a throw whatever random things I could find on top kind of pizza but I’ll still give you the details. The sauce: Classico creamy alfredo pasta sauce The toppings: fresh garlic, diced onion, and baby spinach The cheese: mozzarella, parmesan, pecorino romano

The Lona’s Obsession Continues

Decided to pick up Lona’s Lil Eats for take out last weekend with Sam and to try some new things on the menu. We are still obsessed. This time we both ended up getting the grilled steak wrap. They are famous for the wraps claiming they are the “original giant rice paper wraps” and let me tell you, they are not joking because this thing was MASSIVE. I ate it for three separate meals. I also got the chopped vinaigrette salad for my side. Their smoked vinaigrette is amazing! To learn more about Lona’s check out my first blog post about them.

Send Me Gluten Free | May

This is my last Send Me Gluten Free box from my 3-month subscription. I’m honestly very sad that this wonderful time in my life is coming to an end. But I will be back for them again soon (when I have more money and am not a broke graduate student). 1. Simply 7 Sea Salt Hummus Chips:★★★★★. Honestly these tasted like Funyuns to me but I loved them.  2. Cosmos Creations Caramel Apple Crisps:★★★★. I really liked these but the flavor/consistency took a little while to get used to.  3. Montana Monster Munchies Gluten Free Cookie: ★★★★★. Very strong pat and peanut butter flavor but super moist. Loved this cookie  4. Fruit Bliss Organic French Agen Mini Plums:★★★★. I was very unsure about these at first but I actually enjoyed them more than I thought I would. Not the easiest to eat because of how sticky they are, though.  5. KIND Popped Dark Chocolate with Sea Salt: ★★★★★. You already know my love for these. Check out my post on KIND bars. 6. NuNaturals NuStevia Natural …
