A² | Washington Ave, St. Louis, MO 

***Update: unfortunately A squared closed their doors on Monday October 10th check out their webpage for more information*****  I have been trying to make my way to A²  (pronounced A- squared) for a few months now and I finally made it!!! This is one of the only completely gluten free restaurants in St. Louis city. They recently made Feast Magazine’s “15 Best Spots for Gluten-Free Dining in St. Louis.” I am excited to make my way through that list. Sam and I decided to order a few things off the menu and share. This is our go-to when trying out new GF restaurants. Pictured above is the Washington Avenue Sandwich (Smoked Chicken, Cabbage salad, BBQ Mayo, and Mustard Aioli). I am not a mayo fan at all. I avoid it at all costs normally but I was intrigued by the BBQ flavor. I ended up LOVING this sandwich. The baguette was amazing. Hey y’all, I went to Texas and actually had (mostly) amazing gluten free food so I wanted to share my findings! VIA 313 Pizza | 1111 E 6th St, Austin, TX This place was great. We went to the 6th St. location which is more of a food truck and the delivered our pizza into the bar next door. This was definitely top 5 GF pizza’s I’ve ever had. There are multiple locations all over the Austin area too. Hopdoddy Burger Bar | 1400 S Congress Ave, Ste A190, Austin, TX Not pictured: truffle fries fried in dedicated frier! WOO! But, don’t eat these burgers. Felt very not okay after eating here but I definitely took a risk eating here. The reviews were very 50/50 if the place was celiac safe or not. Check on the fries if you go but they were in a dedicated fryer when I was there and they were amazing. Frank’s | 4th & Colorado, Austin 78701 Awesome late night snack stop. Pi Pizzeria | St. Louis, MO and MORE

Yes, I do have more gluten free pizza for you. Want to know the best part? Not only does Pi has 4 locations in the St. Louis area BUT they have 1 in Washington D.C. and 1 in Cincinnati, OH. Check out their website HERE for the low down on all their locations and the full menu for each location. I’m greedy when it comes to my pizza toppings, so that’s why I tend to make my own. And they have plenty of options on the menu for any pizza lover from the veggie lover to the meat lover. As you can see from the first picture below, my boyfriend and I went for a carnivore make your own pizza this visit with about 4 different meats. The second pizza is one of their pre-made ones called the “Bucktown”. You really cannot go wrong here, people. MYBREAD flatbread pita pizza

These are the real deal. I honestly don’t think I need to look for a different gluten free pizza crust ever again. The MYBREAD Flat Bread Pita made the most amazing and easy crust a celiac could ask for. The best part? It took 10 minutes at 450 degrees. Fast AND easy, that’s my favorite type of meal. I am not going to lie, this pizza was a throw whatever random things I could find on top kind of pizza but I’ll still give you the details. The sauce: Classico creamy alfredo pasta sauce The toppings: fresh garlic, diced onion, and baby spinach The cheese: mozzarella, parmesan, pecorino romano  

Aldi Live G Free Haul 

Finally decided to hop on the Aldi quarter cart bandwagon and try out some Live G Free products. I forgot to include the Double Chocolate Granola in the picture but I’ll be talking about that too. If I try any other products in the future, I’ll make sure to update you on them as well! 1. Spinach, artichoke, and kale stuff sandwich: ★★★★. Pretty good. I’m not a huge fan of kale so I was a little worried about these but the kale flavor was not very strong. Tasted like spinach artichoke dip stuffed in some bread. 2. Pepperoni Pizza stuffed sandwich: ★★★★★. I love these. They are so close to a hot pocket it’s like I never had to give up my unhealthy hot pocket obsession. 3. Plain wraps: ★★★★. I use these as wraps and fry them in a pan to use as tortillas. They are pretty good and the best “tortilla” option I’ve had yet. They don’t break when rolled which is a huge plus but they could still use some work. …

Crushed Red | Clayton, MO

Eating pizza is a luxury. Especially when you can eat it and not feel the slightest bit weird after. Last night I met up with some girls from my program for dinner. My friend suggested Crushed Red, I saw they had salads, and I didn’t feel like causing restaurant choice problems with new friends. (Sorry old friends, I will continue to be a brat about restaurants you choose if I cannot eat there happily because you love me and you’re stuck with me forever) I was content with the salads until I dug deeper into the online menu and saw gluten free pizza. Gluten free pizza at restaurants is always an interesting experience that comes with a roller coaster of emotions. Most of the time I find that they cook the pizza directly on the surface that they cook the regular pizzas and my excitement about having pizza is crushed. Pizza Crust Mix

Pizza is something I took for granted before I was diagnosed. I didn’t love it when I was younger because of my dislike for tomato sauce and by the time I got to college I only had 2 years to truly appreciate all of its greatness.  That being said I work at a summer camp and handle delicious looking delivery pizza on a weekly basis and I am on the search of my life to buy/defrost/make from scratch the best pizza I can. My most recent pizza attempt was found at my local Fresh Thyme. Only takes a few minutes to make just mix 2 tablespoons of oil, 1 cup shredded cheese (optional), 2 eggs, and 1/4 cup  milk or water. Takes about 15 minutes to bake for a 14 inch pizza crust.  I put all of my ingredients under my cheese because that is how I prefer my pizza. This particular pizza was bacon, green peppers, white onions, fresh garlic, romano and mozzarella cheeses, and some garlic salt and ground pepper. I used Preggo Pizza Sauce. …
